Large Pin Art/BlackReviewsFun toy. My 11-year old son loves it. It's loud though, when you turn it upside down and he likes to drive his little sister crazy by doing that. Sort-of like the game Boggle.... great game, but loud when you shake it. My son loves this toy. He has played with it daily. It does not hold up well under rough treatment. He has dropped it a few times (on carpet) and I have had to glue 2 of the corner bolts back together. It is still much sturdier than the cheap versions that have plastic pins. My son first saw one of these at a family members house in Germany and was hooked ever since. This year we decided to get him one for Christmas and without a doubt a big hit for him. Always something new to look at when we walk into his room. A couple of the pins were slightly bent and wouldn't always retract when tipping it upside down but that was easily fixed with some pliers now they all word like they should. I bought this for my four year old grandson who saw it in a store and loved it. It was a great hit with everyone at Christmas but children need to be cautioned about putting it on their noses as it is prickly. My husband was given the pinart as a gift and accidentally knocked it off the shelf. He really enjoyed changing the impressions in the pin art. He was thrilled to have a replacement art piece. Every few days he changes it and he really loves it, and I enjoy seeing his creativity. Sometimes adults like to play too!!! Average Rating:![]() |

Scotch Adhesive Transfer Tape Applicator, Clear Cover (ATG700)ReviewsWhile in school for Art, I worked in a custom framing shop where we used these guns to do everything from matting pictures, to setting up displays, and adhering backing to finished pieces. Somewhere along the line, I decided to buy my own- and on a student's salary, broke down and bought this exact model. Fast forward 14 years, and it is still in perfect condition! I have no problems finding refills and have used it for many many projects- from my own personal art, to framing, gift wrapping, etc. Sometimes, I make up reasons to use it! I don't remember how much I paid for it in '96, but I do know it was a pretty penny, but worth every single cent. It's still going strong, in fact, I just bought some refills today (with Super Saver Shipping). I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality tool that you will use over and over for years to come!! I don't know if I'd say heirloom, but my daughter will be using this no doubt for her crafts and projects... and she's 8! The ATG700 Adhesive Applicator was purchased for a really good price, arrived quickly, and in perfect shape. I ordered tape, and since it arrived, I have had a little difficulty trying to figure out how to get the 'used' portion of the tape to wind up (not my best skill), so I am going to ask a friend who has the ATG700 to show me. I look forward to getting lots of scrapbooking projects done. I really love this product. I am a scrapbooker and a cardmaker and this ATG gun works great for attaching large areas of paper or cardstock. The best part...no more sticky messy glue gun. I have no regrets in buying this product and I would recommend it to anyone who is unsure whether to buy it or not, you will not be dissapointed with this product. This item is a real time-saver for anyone who makes paper products which require neat, smooth, permanent application of paper embellishments. With all the glues I tried, I would get visible ridges, especially if the paper being applied was not very heavy. With the Scotch applicator everything is dry, smooth and even. It gives professional results every time. A must for all scrap-bookers. This was the tape applicator and tape that was recommended by the location where I purchased my wedding invitations, if I were to put them togethor myself. I did and the applicator saved so much time and it was easy to use - I plan on utilizing it for my scrapbooking as well. I wish I would have purchased one a long time ago! Average Rating:![]() |

Art of BreakingReviewsThis is my first TFK album, and it reminds me of the guys in my dorm freshmen year who, upon becoming born again Christians, sold all their "secular" music and bought albums that were only off labels that produced Christian music, especially Tooth & Nail Records. Invariably, six weeks later, they'd have a stack of CD's they'd keep (usually Everydaylife or Jars of Clay) and a stack of CD's they'd take back and try to exchange for their old "secular" music. TFK's "The Art of Breaking" is one of those CDs they'd exchange, had it been produced back then. Let me start with the two pros of this album. The lyrics, when they are meaningful, are more uplifting than most CDs in the "metal" category. The songs on the album are very cohesive. Now the cons. The cohesion comes from every song sounding like it comes from a band who can't decide who they are, artistically, but who are deeply uncomfortable with the musical skin they're in. Maybe this is truly a transitional album (such as underoath's "Define the Bright Line" or Unwritten Law's "Elva") but even so I can't tell what they're transitioning from or to. Trevor McNevan's voice makes me wonder what Ian Watkins of Lostprophets would sound like if he were trying to imitate Pete Loeffler from Chevelle. Joel Bruyere's bass is almost unnoticeable because the song structures lack a strong feeling of rhythm. Really, this another California pretty-boy band trying to say they're metal because once in a while they scream as though they were constipated. And they have uplifting lyrics because they're a Christian band. Altogether, that's not a reason to pick up this album. Altogether solid CD. Not much different than Phenomenon, but then again, I loved Phenomenon! When I listen to music I don't give conscious thought to the lyrics, so the fact that TFK may be Christian Rock doesn't mean anything to me (unless the lyrics are dreadfully, blatantly religious). I found a song or two from this album online, and I was really impressed. This entire album has solid hard rock and a definite unique feel to it. I think the most reasonable contemporary comparison would be Three Days Grace's One-X. The styles are somewhat similar, and both have interesting background guitars adding color throughout. There is nothing negative I can say about this album - no song is disappointing; the songs aren't repetitive; the guitar work and singing are excellent... I don't know what else you can ask for. Just don't expect the rap or punk from TFK's earlier albums. THE BAND: Trevor McNevan (vocals, guitars), Joel Bruyere (bass), Steve Augustine (drums & percussion). Origin - Ontario, Canada. THE DISC: (2005) 11 songs clocking in at approximately 40 minutes. Included with the disc is a 14-page booklet containing song titles/credits, song lyrics, one band photo, and thank you's. Label - Tooth & Nail Records. COMMENTS: The local hard rock radio station was playing "Move" and "Hit The Floor". The songs were catchy and I decided to make the purchase. More times than not, the melodies grab me first, and then I listen to the words. Those new to Thousand Foot Crutch (TFC) might not notice the "Christian Rock" moniker attached to the band. I certainly didn't on my first few listens. But then I noticed the lyrics touched on spirituality, truth, redemption, and that general theme of looking to the sky for answers - but in a low key way - none of the songs come off sermonic. I do not have any of TFC's earlier release(s), but from what I've read, this "Art Of Breaking" is a departure of sorts... less nu-metal/rap/screamo, and more mainstream rock (I'd have to hear more of the earlier material to pass judgment). With that being said, I like this album a ton. If it's a new direction for the band... it works for me. You've heard the sound before - the formula is familiar (Switchfoot, Hoobastank, Breaking Benjamin, Pillar, Stereomud, etc) - but it works because the melodies are hard, crunchy and most importantly catchy. The lyrics have a message, but they're never preachy. "The Art Of Breaking" reached #67 on Billboard's Top 200 albums for 2005 (with the song "Move" reaching mainstream rock's #16). Other singles released are the opener "Absolute", "Stranger", the rocker "Hit The Floor", and the album closer - the uplifting ballad "Breathe You In". Six of the eleven tracks made it to the Top 15 on the Christian Rock chart. TFC and "The Art Of Breaking" also won best rock album, best group, best artist at the 2005 CGMA Covenant (Canadian Gospel Music Awards)... though there's nothing "Gospel" about the album. Maybe in lyric, but certainly not in music - this is a ROCK album. Highlights for me are the harder tracks - "Hurt", "Move", "Hit The Floor" and "Hand Grenade" (though the lyrics are a question mark on this last track). You hear McNevan really cut loose with a ripping guitar solo on "Hand Grenade" - I truly wish there was more of this creativity. The final cut, "Breathe You In", is the lone ballad and it's a great way to close the album. I typically gravitate away from Christian bands (because some are excessively moralizing... and I believe religion is a very personal thing)... but this album doesn't come off that way. Nothing terribly original here from Thousand Foot Crutch, but overall the songs rock and the band definitely has something to say (4 stars). Wonderful album. If you like music, you have to get it. It's just that good. Average Rating:![]() |

The Dying Art of LifeReviewsThis cd is about as straight forward as alternative rock gets. Hard driving, melodic, well produced. This isn't the most original cd I've heard, but the combination of styles is done, very, very well. The influences here are obvious, but no one band shines through in the fighting jack's style. You can hear bits and pieces of the foo fighters, rival schools, a tiny bit of sunny day real estate, embodyment, and a surprising inclusion of a bit of a much underated band once known as puller. This cd is done quite well. It starts to lag a bit around track 9 when the customary slow songs kick in, but the overall length of the cd makes up for it. If you like alternative rock, I doubt you will be disappointed by this cd. Born from San Jose, the Fighting Jacks are slowly but surely making a name for themselves in the music world. This is a solid album; it has many layers and not linear like many indie bands are these days. The lyrics are insightful and the singing fits the music gracefully. I saw them live last week (in SJ) and they can certainly rokken roll. The tracks have yummy melodies but intense and grinding drums and guitars that you can headbang as well as sing along to. The songs have pretty good buildup and keep you interested. My only complaint is the overuse of guitar pedals; if it were less, it would have sparkled instead of being uninventive. Jenny Takes A ShowerReviewsAnother great DVD starring Jenny! This DVD is a compilation of shower scenes (some I could identity from previously released DVDs). Here's a brief breakdown of the scenes: - Scene 1: Takes place outdoors. Jenny washes dirt and mud off of her body. - Scene 2: Takes place indoors. This scene is from the DVD "Happy Naked Birthday", but here the scene is in Full Color (on the other DVD, it was in Black and White). - Scene 3: Takes place outdoors. - Scene 4: Takes place indoors. Jenny washes paint off of her body. This scene is in Black and White. Also, the scene has "sidebars" (in other words, the film doesn't fit the entire width of the screen.) - Scene 5: Takes place outdoors. - Scene 6: Takes place outdoors. This scene has "sidebars". - Scene 7: Takes place outdoors. This scene is in Black and White. - Scene 8: Takes place indoors. Jenny massages various parts of her body (specifically: Breasts, Abdomen, Thighs, and Lower Back). This scene is from the DVD "Casual Self Massage". - Scene 9: Takes place indoors. Jenny takes a shower at a "friend's" house. While showering, she hears an "intruder". She gets out of the shower, runs around the house. Finally, she "escapes" by running outside (during winter, because there's snow on the ground). (also, I use quotations, because there is no intruder. So, this scene is just a scenario.) In summary, I highly enjoyed this DVD. Average Rating:![]() |

Opi Shrek - Tacular MinisReviewsJust received this set today. Super fast shipping. The colors are fun! Yes I had to try them as soon as I got them. Thanks for having this mini set available, me and my sister love OPI, especially the minis because we change our polish often and this makes it easier to mix it up a bit. I ordered this set of Schreck nail polishes. It arrived timely...however...one of the bottles were broken and the contents of the nail polish were everywhere and the other bottles were stuck together. I wrote to the seller...and was told that they would send out a replacement. I NEVER received the replacement, and when I tried to phone them, I just got a machine. I left a message telling them about it...and still no response. I will never use that seller again and would not advise anybody else to either. This product is ok. When my order arrived (on time), 4 out of 5 sets were in new mint condition; but only 1 set was damaged. I told the seller my problem and was told by the seller that I would be receiving an replacement set. As of today (Friday, July 9, 2010) I've still not received my one set. I did write back to the seller as to whether I could get a credit/refund of $9.99,if said product is not replaced. Still waiting....please help.OPI Shrek Tacular Minis Forever After Limited Edition I'm sure this product is just fine, I won't know, vendor screwed up shipping address, it was sent back to them then they wanted to recharge me for shipping! After cncelling order, they had the gall to charge me a restocking fee! beware of BEAUTYCOST vendor! I bought this set for myself and I have used one of the colors. I love the one I used and have received alot of compliments on the color, (used on my toes). I think they are pretty and great for summer! Average Rating:![]() |

2400 1mm & 2mm Round Nail Art Rhinestone Wheel KitReviewsYou get so much for the price, and these really are beautiful colors. I have bought two of these wheels and I am so happy with them I will be buying more in the future. For those of you wondering, all you need is a coat of clear polish over your nail and these will stick perfectly. I usually do that and then another to seal it in once they have set. This is the 1st order I have made on Amazon so I didnt know what to expect. I placed my order Sunday night (very late I might add) and I got my package today (Wednesday). The wheel came in quite a large box (I thought maybe I got extra gifts or something lol) but it was just this tiny little wheel (yes the wheel is quite small). I then turned the wheel over and it was jam packed with all these colorful stones for my nails. THEY'RE THE PERFECT SIZE, COLOR AND AMOUNT!!! I must say that this was a great 1st experience and I will be ordering again! The wheel was smaller then i thought it would be, but the number of rhinestones was surprisingly large, it has a full rainbow to choose from as well as clear(silver) and black. The size makes them perfect for nail art. Cheaper than any wheel you can find in the stores. Good quality and great deal with the super saver shipping. It's nice to use jewels without feeling reserves on the cost of the little suckers Love these stones, searched high a low for these, saw some that were not as plentifull and way too expensive. One place had like 100 rhinestones for 17 bucks!!! So glad I found these. Now I have all three wheels!! Average Rating:![]() |
